Bah, a good weekend ends with the start of a crappy Monday.
Saturday started out rather lax. Up early-ish (well earlier than Aaron) followed by many attempts to actually getting ready and doing something for the day. Had some leftover pasta for lunch and realized that starch makes us sleepy, opted to take a short nap.....which turned into 2 hours. By this time its 430 and I'm wanting to get a haircut, go to the mall, find something cute to wear out to dinner that night to cover my ass, basically plenty to do. Nothing like having to hop to it after a nice long nap. Grrarrr. Thankfully got my haircut quickly and found some cute grey slacks to don for dinner.
Aaron got reservations for Ozark House which in the end was a joke. We got in the resturant like 3 min late becasue there wasn't anywhere to park (let me let you in on a little known fact to me, Ozark House is located on McGregor St, which consists of a long street of houses, OH! the Ozark House, and then more houses and little parking). There was some sort of LARGE gala going on in their banquet room. So we're not familiar with the place, we sit down for a few, and then Aaron thinks to let them know we're here in case they'd called our name. The hostess was this fat rude bitch who treated us like we were sub par to the other snooty bunch that was dining at the time. Needless to say it was 30 minutes before we were seated, much to the snotty snorting reaction to the other people who had been there before us but did NOT have their own reservations. BAH! And to make matters worse they seat us, in all places, in the only table, for two, in the fucking COAT ROOM which is this little breezeway sorta thing between their main dining room and the banquet room. We're thinking "well fuck this shit" bastard uppity people. But then the most wonderful jazz sax music comes wafting in from the banquet hall. And we realize that we can hear the music and NOT the noisy dining room people. We both agreed that if the food sucked we'd complain but if not we'd just chalk it up to stupid rude people. We ended up having the niece of the owner as our waitress who was pulling double duty in the bandquet hall and a few tables out front. Poor girl!!!!! BUT! After really great food and wonderful music to listen to, she gave us free dessert. We were reluctant to take it because we were stuffed and wondered where we'd fit it. But here's this monster slab of turtle cheesecake and moments after we devour it we realize that, WOW! I dn't feel full anymore!!! It was MAGICAL CHEESECAKE. :) Don't question this folks, I wouldn't lie to you.
Sunday was less eventful. Tried a new church, St. Johns Lutheran on Towanda. SEeing as Aaron's dad knew the minister I thought we'd get more of a reception afterwards than a brush off from the minister. OH well, better luck next Sunday I suppose. We wre going to just veg all day but then headed over to Peoria to visit his parents and sister who was visiting. She followed us back to our apartment to work on this trivia contest we've entered. Of course THEN my computer decides to totally screw up. If anyone can tell me what this means, I'd be appreciated, though I'm using the library comptuer because I'm unable to get on my own in any way. The mouse aarow jumps around erratically and can't be controlled. Rebooting (which was a task) and unplugging the back to "drain the memory" and rebooting produced nothing as well. I'll be pissed if Aaron's sis wandered into an unsecured site and got me a virus which has been my suspicion all along. Grrrrr. And of course Aaron's harddrive or reader aren't working so his comp is obsclete too.
Here I am now day one of 7 in a row over. *sigh* I"ll get through it somehow. if anyone wants to reach me they can email me for a phone number since my first line of communication is shot. Booooo!
